Window Replacement & Installation in Brooklyn NY

Brooklyn has brownstones, prewar co-ops, and newer apartment buildings, and each one calls for a different approach to windows. Window Services in Brooklyn

What we cover from the first site visit through final install or repair.

We start with a site review of your existing windows. Then we help you pick a product that fits your building, your budget, and any approval steps that apply.

Once a product is picked, we handle ordering, installation, and a final walkthrough. We also repair and maintain windows that are already installed. We work around your schedule, not the other way around.

Historic Districts and Brownstone Openings

Older brownstones and historic districts call for a closer look before work starts.

NOTE

Brooklyn has several historic districts, including Park Slope, Brooklyn Heights, and Fort Greene, and buildings in these areas need Landmarks Preservation Commission review for any exterior window work. Brownstones and other older buildings often have window openings that don't match today's standard sizes either, which affects both what fits and how it gets installed.

Co-op and condo buildings usually need board approval too, so we check what applies to your building first, whether that's a historic district review, a board sign-off, or both. The same kind of review comes up in Manhattan and parts of Queens, just with different local boards handling it.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions we hear most often about Brooklyn window projects.

Q1Can I replace windows on a brownstone or a building in a Brooklyn historic district?
Yes, but buildings in historic districts like Park Slope, Brooklyn Heights, or Fort Greene usually need Landmarks Preservation Commission review first. Brownstones also often have window openings sized differently than modern windows, so we check both things before we suggest a product.
Q2Do all Brooklyn brownstones need historic district approval?
No. Only brownstones inside a designated historic district fall under Landmarks Preservation Commission review. Outside those districts, a more standard permit process usually applies instead.
Q3Can you match the original window style on an older Brooklyn building?
Often, yes. Some of our manufacturer partners offer historic replication or narrow-sightline options built to match older window profiles, and we can go over what fits your building's original look during consultation.
Q4How much does window replacement cost in New York?
Cost depends on the window type, size, material, glass, and how many you need, plus how hard the opening is to reach. Since those factors change so much from one building to the next, we give project-specific quotes instead of a general price range that wouldn't really apply to your job.
